Richard Galica M.S., Senior Consultant, has over 30 years in the
management of behavioral health treatment services and managed behavioral
health provider network development, credentialing and management. In his
role as Product Manager, Credentialing for the Council for Affordable
Quality Healthcare, Mr. Galica managed the implementation of the Universal
Credentialing DataSource in 48 states and was responsible for the ongoing
evolution of the product. Mr. Galica was Vice President of Network
Administration/CVO of Magellan Behavioral Health; a $2 billion managed
behavioral health company for six years. In this position he managed a
unit of over 200 professionals and was responsible for provider network
policy, credentialing, network quality, call center and network
analytical/reporting services.
Mr. Galica led the company in the use of technology to reduce cost and
improve operational results, including the development and successful
implementation of an integrated credentialing, contracting and provider
management SQL database and in the migration of claims, clinical and
credentialing data from multiple platforms and databases to a single
master database. Mr. Galica successfully led the Magellan Credentialing
Department through over 30 NCQA MBHO regional and MCO customer audits. His
department was awarded NCQA CVO Certification in 1999 and 2001.
Prior to that position, Mr. Galica was Program Director - Behavioral
Health Services. Medical College of Wisconsin Inc. for five years, where
he developed an outpatient mental health clinic and had administrative
responsibility for the development, implementation and management of
managed behavioral health contracts. Prior positions include three years
as a program manager for the development and management of all aspects of
a 19-bed inpatient psychiatric program at the Community Memorial Hospital,
CEO of an inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency treatment programs.
Mr. Galica has also served as Vice President of Clinical Services for
freestanding and inpatient hospital behavioral health specialty
units/services for seniors, adolescents, women, professional, and dually
diagnosed (AODA/Psychiatric) patients. |
