Janice Walker, R.N., M.P.H., Ed.D., Senior Consultant, has extensive experience in the health care field. Prior to joining OPEN MINDS, Dr. Walker was Director of Health Care for Create, Inc., New York, where she managed all aspects of a residential and outpatient treatment for this community-based non-profit organization. As manager of design at Primary Care Development Corporation, New York, she oversaw the development and implementation of evaluation tools and designed new and existing programs for private non-profit organizations that provide financial and technical assistance to primary care centers in all boroughs of New York City. She also was director of Learning Resource Center for City College, School of Nursing New York. At the center, she directed the design and development of exhibits focusing on health issues, was responsible for a $1.8 million capital budget, and created a training and development function for a hands-on science and technology interactive museum focusing on health, technology, and the environment. Dr. Walker also held the position of Director of Programs at Children of Alcoholics Foundation, New York.
