Joan Chick, M.S.N., R.N., Senior Consultant, has extensive
experience in the quality improvement, licensure, and accreditation issues
in health care. Prior to joining OPEN MINDS, Ms. Chick served as
Vice President of Quality Assurance at United Health Services, where she
was responsible for health care services delivered to the company's
residential facilities located across the country. Ms. Chick has
previously worked at the Professional Nurses Bureau establishing the
quality assurance division of this organization and helping it to become
the first home care agency to receive Joint Commission accreditation. She
was also the National Director of Nurses for Nursefinders where she was
responsible for managing professional activities, licensure, and
accreditation.
Ms. Chick holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph's
Hospital and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois
University. She is a nurse educator and taught at St. Joseph's Hospital
School of Practical Nursing, at Copely Memorial Hospital School of
Nursing, and at the Waubonsee Community College.
